How information is handled

Your device and location

Favorites, saved trips and language stay on your device. Your location is used for routing and is not sent to photo or booking providers by this app.

Booking-link records

We may log which booking link was opened and whether it was an affiliate link. When aggregate measurement is enabled, we store monthly booking-link request counts and photo-permission counts, plus daily permission counts. These application records do not include names, location or IP addresses. These counts do not show completed bookings or payments.

Google photos and external services

Clicking Google photos, or bringing a photo card into view when automatic display is enabled, connects to Google and shares connection information such as your IP address. The venue Place ID is sent, but photo requests do not send your device location. Booking providers apply their own privacy and affiliate-tracking policies. Hosting providers may keep access logs.

Saved trips and directions

Saving a trip from your location also stores its starting coordinates in this device’s browser. Trip names stay on the device. Opening walking directions sends that leg’s starting and destination coordinates to Google. Share links never include your current location.

Anonymous counts

We aggregate monthly counts and timings for route requests, results, selection, starting, saving, sharing and PR exposure/clicks. Totals are grouped by area, category, broad time band, available hours, language and PR presence. We do not send or store identifiers, names, coordinates, trip names or search text. Counts are not unique visitors, bookings or revenue. You can turn off anonymous counts.

We count fixed acquisition categories: Instagram ads, Instagram profile, hotel QR, direct/other and diagnostics. Creative labels are also fixed codes; full URLs and referrers are not sent or stored. We retain these labels and their expiry in sessionStorage for up to 30 minutes within the same tab, without adding an identifier or cookie. Collection is disabled when you opt out or your browser sends a tracking refusal signal.

Advertising and cookies

We are preparing to use Google AdSense. Ad serving has not started. Once enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and similar information to serve and measure ads based on previous visits to this and other websites. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to display personalized ads. This app does not pass its geolocation results to advertising code.

Manage personalized ads in Google ad settings. For other vendors, see industry advertising choices. Applicable regional consent settings will be reviewed before ad serving starts. See how Google uses data.
